Stonehaven

What a great day...12 racers turned up and the weather was fantastic, the midgies were a bit harsh but we tried to ignore them and a great day of racing was had by all I think.

A new Schumacher CAT SX2 was tearing up the track, which was quite impressive to see.

I had a great time racing and as it was my first real try at driving the X-Pro on grass in a competition I think I did very well...each round I added a Lap so by the B final I was doing 16-17 laps, I was actually 2nd for a couple of laps till I lost my cool and crashed out to which Den took the advantage with his awesome Losi XXX-4 and laped me.

Dan was the overall winner once again but close behind him was James driving the new CAT SX2

I did finish last but a Lot was learned and the car is now a lot better set up and tuned for the next race thanks to a lot of advice from Phil and Den. I still need to sort out some better tires as on the fastrax studs I was using were making me suffer HUGE grip roll.

I was one of only two 2WD cars, the other being a very cool B4...So I'm very happy with how I did :D

Video's will be uploaded to the Youtube channel soon.

After racing on grass for the first time I am contemplating opening up the grass area behind the SHQ to have a go on that...need to cut the grass though :)

6th June...

Was a good day Sunday... Drove the new Truggy (Royal Flash) in anger for the first time, had to do a bit of a re-build as the steering was off, but once I got that fixed it was great fun to drive...It stuck to the vinyl floor very well and took the ramp with ease. It's flight abilities are excellent and I could control it very well in the air.

The Royal Flash is a great starter Truggy...it's grip and handling make it an ideal choice for new drivers. I'm going to get one for the club to complement the Master Smacker when funds permit.

Half way through Sunday we changed the direction of the track...usually we run counter clockwise but we turned the ramps around and drove clockwise...what a change...my mind for a while could not get used to it and I was all over the track, but soon we were fling around. My bro once again broke his lower from suspension arm, it was still the same part he broke the other week, the araldite just was not a good enough fix, I have plenty of spares now so we stopped driving a while, charged the batteries, had a coffee and fixed his car.

I'm aiming to proved as many spares as possible for Ansmann cars as a track side club service. They don't break often but it's nice to know you hopefully can fix it there and then :)
